The Hate has to stop NOW!!!!

Democrats vs Republicans

Man vs Woman

Black vs White

North vs South

Americans vs Arabs

So much hatred being put out lately! It's being outpulsed at a disgusting rate. One has to wonder, why is this hate being promoted so much by the mainstream media? What is there to gain when we're all attacking each other? Then it hit me...take away liberties so we can feel safer. Why else would mainstream media overhype issues as "terrorist bombing", "man beats woman", "white man gets gunned down in black neighborhood", etc. Rarely do you ever hear them hype up "Man helps woman from attacker", "White man helps black man from assailant", "People unite to stop potential bomber", etc. Why can't things that can unify ever get the hype they deserve? After all, when we are growing up, aren't we told that we should all get along? How are we suppose to do that when fighting amongst one another is encouraged.

So for once, I'm going to report something positive and unifying! My son goes to Lancashire Elementary in Wilmington, DE. In these classes, there are blacks, whites, asians, jews, hispanics, indians, and middle-eastern children. My son's 2 closest friends are black and hispanic (In case you are wondering, my son is white). A lot of these children that I have met are well versed, very smart, and fun to be around. They don't even understand what racism is! That is a beautiful thing. My son doesn't get why someone would not like someone just because of their skin color or where they live. This to me is what the world should sound like. We should be confused as to why someone would be a racist, bigot, fascist, etc. Imagine a world like that? Well, we shouldn't have to imagine it. It should be a reality.

To quote Mahatma Gandhi..."You must be the change you want to see in the world". We can all agree he is a highly intelligent human being and a great human activist. So why can't we follow this policy? What makes us the exception? If anyone reading this has kids, looking at them should be enough to show you that you need to be that positive change. You need to fight for what is right. You have to fight to make a better world for our children, who would then fight for their children, and so on and so forth. We need to stop being so focused on ourselves. It's not important that we try to look like a celebrity. It's not important that we have to have the latest technology. It's not important that we have to watch some stupid show on television because it makes for good conversation at work. We need to get off our asses, look at the world, and start asking ourselves...What are we going to do to make it a better place.

Stop waiting for handouts. Stop waiting for the next thing to happen. YOU could be the next thing to happen. Stop living in fear. Stop being a coward. You know what will happen if you don't do anything? NOTHING. Nothing will change. People will continue to walk all over you. People will use you until you have nothing more to give. Then what will you do? Wither away and die? That's no life to live. Become the person you want to be. Become the person your children can look up to. Don't sit back and hope that someone is going to come along to lead us in the right direction. Who's to say that person isn't you? Who has the right to say you're not that person? The answer is no one. No one can tell you what you can and can't be. That's up for you to decide.

So ask yourself...Are you the change you want to see in the world? Start from there and make a difference.

  1. I agree completely. It is amazing how the new theorists on child care are teaching people to point out only the positive things that a child is doing, yet when they have to face the "real world" they are slammed with negative. So which one do they want us as a society to do? People are purposely doing stupid things to get their 3 minutes of fame because they know the media will pay attention to it. No wonder people aren't doing the "Right" thing anymore, no one gets recognition for that. Unless of course you are some big shot celebrity and shell out tons of money.

The difference needs to come from the youngest generation, parents need to start teaching their kids that recognition means nothing, because the right thing will always impact whether it is recognized or not by others. In the grand scheme of things if everyone did the right thing it will eventually change the entire country if not the world.
